Does anyone know what the Repub candidates think of non-monotheistic religions?
My father and I were discussing a related topic and it got me wondering about their views.

Some of them are obviously rabidly X-tian but what do they think about peoplle that are pagans, Buddists, etc.?
Are we second class citizens to them? What rights do I have in their eyes or should I be burned at the stake for my 'evil' beliefs?

I recall Bob Barr wanting to hunt Wiccans that were in the military and shrub said:
"I am committed to the First Amendment principles of religious freedom, tolerance, and diversity. Whether Mormon, Methodist, Jewish, or Muslim, Americans should be able to participate in their constitutional free exercise of religion. I do not think witchcraft is a religion, and I do not think it is in any way appropriate for the U.S. military to promote it."

So does anyone here know (off the top of your head) what the current Repub candidates' positions and thoughts are on religion and politics
when it comes to those of us that are not in the big three (xtian/Jewish/Muslim)?

1. "Cults"

What would you expect them to say? They don't even acknowledge other monotheistic religions.

3. It is easy to go to the front of a church and call those groups cults
But what would they want to do if they could get away with it?

I could see Bachmann wanting to create a new Spanish Inquisition if she thought she would get away with it.
And everyone knows: you can't expect the Spanish Inquisition

2. Good question. I was raised Catholic but lean more towards Buddhism.

My hunch is that they abhor anything that isn't Republican, born-againish, Bible-banging American 'Christianity.'

I, on the other hand, blame Republican, born-againish, Bible-banging American 'Christianity' for the past 31 years of Republican propaganda. They are the right arm of the Republican Party.

12. Catholicism is like Katarii Damacy--just absorb part of everything
additionally, US and Britan have a long history of anti-Catholicism, which manages to be both elitist and populist through the centuries

8. From what I've seen of Perrys RW, born-again religious connections, He is going to have

going to have (and SHOULD have), major problems with
Catholics. Especially, when you play back all the video of the Anti-
Catholic bile spouting from all these kooky televangelist types that
have endorsed Perry.

9. I noticed that too
I'm curious if he realizes it or not. When is comes to Perry, it is hard to tell.
I mean, he says enough to make you think he has a brain, but then he continues and you realize that most of it doesn't work.

11. "xtian/Jewish/Muslim": What's your problem with spelling out "Christian"? How about writing "Xlim"?

13. I didn't mean to step on toes with that
I have no problem with spelling out Christian.
At home we always used X-mas as shorthand and that just crept into using Xtian (sometimes x-tian).

As to Xlim. That just makes them sound like a weight loss product.
Xish would make them sound like they are trying to part of the X-Men.
