2. Except they don't want to spend a little extra on

administration so that there is more oversight. However, Medicare is pretty good at throwing out excess charges. I know. I'm on Medicare and get statements on my medical uses, which shows what was billed, what Medicare approved and what Medicare paid. I recently had surgery on my nose. The charge was $11,000, no doubt a typo error from the biller. Medicare approved $900.00 and paid $720.00, the 80% which they are contracted to pay.

The big drain on Medicare was allowing private insurance into the plan, in the form of Medicare Part C Advantage programs and the Medicare Part D prescription drug programs. The for profit companies are the real welfare queens and will destroy Medicare unless they are sent packing.
