The Loughner Alter: A shine to his head stash!
This sounds more like a smoking spot than anything. Let's break it down.

Oranges- peels keep weed fresh and adds citrus flavoring.

Potting soil- high in nitrogen I would suspect, maybe plotting to grow his own.

Skull- head stash, possible stash spot for his weed and apparatus tray (for breaking up your buds)

The candles- it gets dark at night.

The camouflage tent- smoking pot is still illegal.

His parents probably didn't let him smoke in the house.

Simple as that.

5. Which makes sense, looking how unkept the "alter" is.
Dried out, rotted fruit in bowl, Dried out and rotted vegetation strewn about. Dried out soil everywhere. Don't look like he's been doing much there, be it toking on a dubbie, or sacrificing small animals.

8. Aryan people in the copper and bronze age took the
heads of their enemies as trophies. They also smoked pot in tents by burning it on a fire and breathing in the vapors. They kept skull collections of their vanquished and sometimes made drinking cups out of them and used them on their altars. Also the Swastika was a religious symbol of the wheel of life for those people. Since skinheads and other Aryan nation militias have adopted the symbols of the skulls and swastikas as their own, I can't help believe this man has ties to them. I know the American Renaissance group says he's not one of them, it means nothing because this is what they do. When I lived in northern Idaho, many of the crimes committed there were traced back to Aryan Nation compound in Hayden, Idaho yet the Rev. Butler would always say he didn't know them, or that they had left the church months ago. It's their m/o. The burglaries and hold-ups in the Spokane and Coeur d' Alene areas were perpetrated to get funds. When the men who did them got caught, the church compound threw them under the bus disavowing knowing them.

10. So everyone who ever smoked pot and has a plastic skull laying around somewhere
should be suspected of being a member of the Aryan Nations, because of some things a group of people did in the Bronze Age? Did I understand that correctly?

Cause if that's the case, I'm in big trouble...:hide:

11. Nice red herring there.
"everyone who smokes pot".

The fact is the Aryan Nation borrowed a lot of their symbolism from the Nazis, who borrowed it from their past being the Germanic peoples were some of the descendent's of the Aryan people. They even called themselves Aryan. My point is that there is a connection there to White Supremacist groups who have adopted a lot of these ancient symbols second hand. I just threw in the pot smoking that was described about these tribes by Herodotus the ancient Greek historian as well as the skull and head hunting lore as an extra piece of information. It was just odd to me that he had a tent there. Maybe he was trying that. How odd you would be upset about this. It has nothing to do with you unless you are a member of those present day sects. I should have thrown Iron Age in there too because they were still around then and because that's when Herodotus wrote about them. Really.

Well, I would like to hang around and spar with you, but I have to go to the dentist to get my teeth filed.

13. I'm not "upset," I just thought you made a really weird-ass connection
Edited on Tue Jan-11-11 06:01 PM by RoseMead
that seemed to imply a generalization about pot-smoking skull owners. I know about the Aryan Nations, and I know about the ancient "Aryan" people. I even know that the only true connection between those two groups - and the Nazis, for that matter - comes from a bunch of stuff that Helena Blavatsky made up more than 100 years ago. What I didn't, and still don't understand, is what any of that has to do with people, or even this specific person, who 1. smoke or have smoked pot and 2. own or display fake skulls.

If you just thought it was odd that he had a tent there, why didn't you just say that?

I hope your dental visit went well.

On edit:
BTW: "How odd you would be upset about this. It has nothing to do with you unless you are a member of those present day sects." Is that some kind of sly way of insinuating that I'm a white supremacist simply because I asked a question? Or did you really mean something completely different there, too?

15. Gawd! Sometimes a rose is just a rose.
No, I don't think you are a White Supremacist. What I said was that I thought Jared Loughner might be influenced by them. These are people I'm pretty familiar with because I lived in the Hayden Lake area in Idaho for five years and it was hard not to rub elbows with them. Incidentally I'm not alone in this thought. Some people of authority are also delving into it.
