Arizona Sheriff Blasts Rush Limbaugh for Spewing 'Irresponsible' Vitriol
Sheriff Clarence Dupnik tell ABC News' Diane Sawyer Gunman Fired 'As Fast As He Was Capable
By SARAH NETTER
Jan. 10, 2011

The Arizona sheriff investigating the Tucson shooting that left U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords critically wounded had harsh words today for those engaging in political rhetoric, calling conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh "irresponsible" for continuing the vitriol.

"The kind of rhetoric that flows from people like Rush Limbaugh, in my judgment he is irresponsible, uses partial information, sometimes wrong information," Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said today. "(Limbaugh) attacks people, angers them against government, angers them against elected officials and that kind of behavior in my opinion is not without consequences."

Limbaugh today railed against the media and Dupnik for trying to draw a link between the heated political climate and the shooting rampage, calling the sheriff a "fool." But Dupnik stood by his assertions.

"The vitriol affects the (unstable) personality that we are talking about," he said. "You can say, 'Oh no, it doesn't,' but my opinion is that it does."

4. Love this sheriff! We do need to support his position that millions
of Americans agree with him and have said nothing.

Diane Sawyer....what can I say? She did her best in a sugar coated manner to get Dupnik to loosen his viewpoint. She could have left it alone after he clearly stated his position as she did after reading the vitriolic "fool" remark of rush limbaugh's. I'm not saying this well....I guess I felt for Dupnik who had to defend his opinion against rush as if rush is the standard. ???? imho

21. Jeebus...do we have a big Diane Sawyer fan here?
I ask because it seems someone answered this post in "deletable" fashion.

So Sorry to offend!...Got nothing against her personally, but I've been watching

her interviews for many years and she doesn't seem to be "on our side", if you get my drift.

I could give you other examples, but will restrain myself until asked for them.:scared:

6. The Good Sheriff
The elephant is a large, impressive animal. It also runs in herds, can be very dangerous, tends to destroy whole forests and planted crops, and leaves huge piles of dung in its wake.

Sound familiar?--Its spokesman is a huge elephantine cigar-smoking, bloated bag of crap.

9. Limbaugh and Ingram were SCREAMING on their shows yesterday.
I guess the idea that "talk radio needs to turn down their rhetoric" really hit a nerve, even though the media went OUT OF THEIR WAY not to point to the ring wing commentators, and instead, said "both sides" need to chill out. I guess Limbaugh and Ingram are feeling pretty guilty and instead of showing remorse for ramping up anger and outrage with violent imagery, they are attacking the left.

limbaugh was rambling all over the place with his conspiracy theories Monday afternoon and mentioned some crazy story about a screen shot that he has (obsess much, Rush?) from the daily kos of a post from a gay Giffords supporter who expressed outrage that she was not as liberal as he had previously thought.. and here the guy had worked tirelessly for her campaign after having shot himself from an attempted suicide after his lover left him, blah, blah, blah. so what the hell was that story about, limbaugh? it made no sense. is there some crazy accusation that loughner was a Gifford's supporter? I couldn't understand if he was trying to say that or not. But it was a stupid, rambling, crazy story that I'm sure he, or someone made up. Even if it was on the daily kos at one point, it was most likely fabricated by someone trying to demonize Ms. Giffords.

And ingram was literally SCREAMING at how "disgusting" the media was for implying that talk radio, or sarah palin, or fox news contributed in any way whatsoever to the shooting. for someone so "innocent" she sure as hell was defensive.

Anyway, it sounds like the right wingers know they've been caught with their pants down and they are desperately trying to point fingers at the left in order to somehow, make them look better. but no one is buying it.

15. My online newspaper the Bangor Daily News in Maine
is bumping. Right wingers are out in force trying to make it look like both sides are guilty. It is desperate and ludicrous.Reaching by saying things like Obama said the word enemy so he is guilty too. Obama is the most mild mannered human being in existence.I think we can expect the right wingers to come out in full force to protect their own..war mongers.

14. I accept the Sheriff's credentials over Rush's.
Born on January 11, 1936, in Helena, Texas, he was raised in Bisbee, Arizona, and later attended the University of Arizona in Tucson. He graduated from Keeler Institute in Chicago, the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville, and the Urban Affairs Executive Institute at M.I.T. He joined the Tucson Police Department in 1958, and subsequently was promoted through the ranks from Patrol Officer to Major in charge of Field Operations. He left TPD in 1977 to accept the position of Chief Deputy with the Pima County Sheriff's Department, a job he held until his appointment as Sheriff by the Pima County Board of Supervisors 2½ years later.

19. he may well be right, but a sheriff's job is to investigate and make an indictment
any comments about blame that are not directly in the indictment undermine the state's case

22. Didn't Candy Crowley and Wolf Blizer say Dupnik would back
off his earlier pronouncements against right-wing radio after "the shock" of the shooting of his friend, Giffords had worn off?

No, Candy and Wolfie, he hasn't walked this back, you twits, because he truly and honestly believes this is accurate... and so does most of the rest of America.
