...with no notion of what it means to be a real liberal...

They need to come to DU and discover the truth...

97. you think they are not deluded?
What percentage of them do you think are getting their information from the M$M?

Also, back when Bush had 90% approval rating from the whole country, many DUers were proud to have been part of the 10%. I guess DUers must have been deluded then too.

48. In Wyoming liberal is defined as someone who voted for a liberal.
Doesn't mean they do anything different in their household as any of the conservatives, but their vote still counts.

Riding a horse is riding a horse.
It doesn't matter if they are liberal or conservative.

and I will definitely vote for him in 2012.

And I want to know, would it kill him to support an actual jobs bill like Jan Schakowsky's instead of his bullshit imaginary one that will probably end up being the GOP's agenda?

10. Not really -- just comparing apples and pears. The differing polling outfits..
...produce two different polling numbers -- self-identified liberals, and self-identified liberal Democrats.

The difference -- and 10% isn't a lot in a sub-sample -- is the liberals who aren't identifying as Democrats.

of republican sock puppets and deluded souls. True liberals understand what is at stake in 2012 and are determined to keep President Obama in office and return the House to firm democratic control, while holding the Senate.

To the degree that the haters believe that they are Obama's "base" and that they are "pushing him from the left", they are seriously delusional.

valuing a party chief over a principle that has been in the party's platform since FDR, then I am not a grownup.

If anything, we learned that we need to be even more centrist before voters are finally going to get it. We don't even NEED this poll to see that.

But now we are saying they are just a tiny bubble?

Sorry if I'm confusing things, I just want to have the same talking points as the other centrists.

Are we saying that a tiny bubble of DU type liberals had the power to throw the midterms by staying home, or are we saying that when it comes down to voting- most liberals support him like in the polls we see?

I just want to make sure I'm blaming the correct tiny bubble of people if DEMS lose anymore elections.

Bachmann was talking about going after Iran the other day!
She said we needed to stand with Israel and go after Iran!
That's crazy talk.

Obama isn't crazy or wild-eyed talking about dismantling the EPA or the Social Security system.

But, he needs to keep his mouth shut about guns.
I used to be much more conservative and I didn't like Gore very much, even though I voted for him.
But after seeing what happened to him in 2000, I got pretty gawd damned liberal pretty gawd damn quick.

If you search my DU history going all the way back to b/f Kerry campaign, you will see me bragging about working directly for the DNC in CA and working for the SC and GA DEM parties. You will see me bragging about holding party positions in the Richmond County GA. One summer I raised around $50K for the DNC as a fundraiser-probably my greatest brag.

This is what I have done in the past- for the future, you can be sure that I'm going to fight as hard for DEMS as they are fighting for me.

Point being- Obama does not need people who think like the far left DUers- he needs the people who responded to this poll. I'll bet they have all done as much or more than me or the average DUer, for instance.

41. I'm not as sure about that anymore.
I was discussing this with the husband last nite. The majority of Independents used to lean left, but with the cumming of the teapers, many Indies are now really righties. At least, that's how it's flipping in AZ. In fact, two Indie friends of mine are now specifying that they are left-leaning Independents just to distance themselves from the teapers. One is actually about to throw in the towel and register as a Dem.

So, going after the elusive Independent vote may not be as important as it once was. The leftie indies will vote Democratic, as always, and the neo-Indies will vote for their next door neighbor 'cause he's fiscally responsible and weeds his lawn regularly.

69. When are you going to retract your repeated misstatements?
The OP here was 100% correct, then and now. Anyone with a browser can verify this. Yet you continue to post incorrect information, even after being called out on it. Why?

52. I have been polled a few times
I say I approve of Obama. It's more nuanced than that. I disapprove of much of what he does, but I do not want him with poll numbers in the cellar which will only encourage the TPers.
So take polls with a grain of salt.

61. It's because they still think that he's "one of us"....and that it's someone else's fault that he's
pursuing conservative policies.

64. I think it's because allot of Democrats still think he's liberal because Fox News and CNN
keep saying he's a liberal. Unfortunately too many people in this country actually eat the bullshit that they are fed.

I'm a goddamed liberal and I've seen this man, time and again, sell out his principles. It's damned clear he's part of an elite which doesn't give a damn about average people.

98. You really don't want to keep going here, bud. Eventually liberals will quit lying to the pollsters.
And it will be because liberals were egged on, like this, to start telling the pollsters their dissatisfaction.
