I was roundly flamed for suggesting Reid and Pelosi MUST BE removed from leadership
Edited on Tue Aug-09-11 05:10 PM by Vinnie From Indy
a few days back. Harry Reid has shown himself to be either completely incompetent and politically tone deaf or he is being blackmailed by the BushCo/Cheney thugs. Appointing Max Baucus as part of the super-committee should be Harry's swan song as Senate leader. We are being played!

The removal of Reid and Pelosi as leaders should immediately be part of the discussion in the world of progressives/liberals.

We cannot afford such weak, inneffectual leadership.

7. I think her hands were tied on that one, though I share the disgust.
She has, however, stood up to the administration and the blue dogs on multiple issues. Given that she is in the minority, I don't quite know what the OP expects her to do.

5. Quite simply, she has presided as leader of House Dems
since Smirky left office and she has roundly had her ass kicked by the GOP and, even more damning, she has volunteered to remove BushCo from any investigations or prosecutions for the ocean of illegal activities on their watch.

At the end of the day, Democrats need leadership and Pelosi has delivered nothing substantial. She must go as a sign that the Democratic Party is going to change tactics. Hers have failed us miserably.

2. It's clear with Max Baucus we're going down the same bullshit path again. It's just
another WTF. What is in the water these people drink. No wonder we're in one constant CF.

6. Reid should go. Pelosi not so much.
But I don't think we'd get much better regardless. :(

9. Yes, they both should go for lack of performance and leadership.

11. "We cannot afford such weak, ineffectual leadership."
I don't know why you would be flamed...but it seems fairly clear to me that members of their caucuses have a different view.

A change in leadership at this point would not be helpful. In fact, their members would appear indecisive, which could lead people to question whether or not they believe in the ideas they are advocating.
