Bet Frontier phone regrets buying Verizon now:
( Our landline and dsl carrier, btw)

45,000 Strike at Verizon as Landline Business Collapses
By Derek Thompson

This will go down as an annus horribilis for labor. The high-profile showdowns between players and owners in the NBA and NFL are puny compared to the 45,000 unionized employees with Verizon's wired business who went on strike at midnight Saturday night. The affected workers "are responsible for maintaining and repairing traditional landlines, as well as installing FiOS," the Washington Post reported. The company's wireless division is not affected."''

Snip.....
"In a review of the fastest dying industries, IBISWorld wrote that wired telecom "has declined in every year they are generating lower returns each year as consumers switch to VoIP and wireless products."

in article there is a chart of "10 key dying industries"

1. Frontier didn't buy all of Verizon, just selected parts.
Verizon's landline business is still mostly theirs.

And yes, their landline business sucks. Nobody but businesses are looking for phones you can only use at one place. Their only real future is in internet access.

4. Same here
Good sound quality, and I don't have to worry about brain cancer. Besides, it works when the power's out, try that with Vonnage.

3. Verizon shed exchanges they did not want to Frontier.
Verizon is still most of the former Bell Atlantic, NYNEX and the Florida, Texas and California parts of GTE along with the cellular parts of it all.
