7 deadly sins
How is it that this country, this "Christian Nation" can live in an economic system that relies on us violating the 7 deadly sins?

Wrath
Greed
Gluttony
Lust
Envy
Sloth
Pride

These 'Sinful' but inherently human traits are the very things that our economy needs to survive....we envy our neighbors SUV, we eat too much, lay around too much, put too much emphasis on appearance, act vengefully upon other nations...etc etc.

How can anyone who considers themselves Christian, endorse capitalism? or Republicanism? or anything except communism really? Are we a nation of deadly sin enablers?

The possibility of a classless society, where none is 'better' than another, where no one deserves more than anyone else...could essentially evolve us away from greed, envy, pride, gluttony....

as for Lust...haha well, I think that one is here to stay :P

1. Not everyone ascribes to the notion of '7 deadly sins'
which are not Biblical. Even in the RC Church, they attain only the status of pietas or devotions. If you want to shame ostensible 'Christians' with their own dogma, it's not too difficult.

3. I believe greed, envy, and lust are alluded to in the Ten Commandments.

2. I would add another sin to the proverbial list--WAR
The act of war, to me, is the ultimate sin.
We live in a nation that relies on war to fuel the largest segment of our economy, the Military Industrial Complex.
Despite our "Christian" intents, we will be judged by the deeds our military inflicts upon the world.

4. When I was younger Lust was my favorite.
Now Lust is only third, behind Gluttony and Sloth. The others don't interest me much.
