Tea Party Nation: The left's killed "a billion people"

THIENSVILLE, Wis. -- The founder of Tea Party Nation claimed liberal ideology is responsible for "a billion" deaths over the last century during a raucous rally here Saturday in support of one of the six Republican state senators facing a recall election Tuesday.

"I will tell you ladies and gentlemen, I detest and despise everything the left stands for. How anybody can endorse and embrace an ideology that has killed a billion people in the last century is beyond me," said Tea Party Nation CEO Judson Phillips.

Phillips, who a day prior likened protesters of Gov. Scott Walker to Nazi storm troopers, urged a few hundred tea party supporters to turn out for State Sen. Alberta Darling, who is in a ferocious battle with Rep. Sandy Pasch to hold onto her suburban Milwaukee seat.

But he wasn't the only speaker to use loaded language to gin up the crowd.

Vince Schmuki, a leader of the Ozaukee Patriot tea party group compared the recall effort to a terrorist attack.

"This is ground zero," said Schmuki. "You remember what the term ground zero means? We have been attacked."

And you should study history. Hitler had lots of opponents in his rise to power. They lost the political battles and the physical intimidation he used in his march to power. People who were opposed to him just shut up after he achieved power because the alternative was death. Many continued to work against him, but did so quietly.

And if you think you can't have a war if you surrender, ask the Jews, Gays, Gypsies, liberals, union members, and communists Hitler rounded up and ... silenced.

My comment was meant this way. Demagogues who used tactics of fear to make one group hate another never tone down their rhetoric. How can you tone down against a side that is utterly and abhorrently evil, that murder a billion people, and put children's blood in their passover cake. Where a majority of people can hate without killing the object of their hatred, there is always a substantial minority who can be convinced to act, or will convince themselves to act.

After all, if your opponent is evil, how can you compromise with that person on policy, the needs of the nation, or on what to have for lunch.

What you are calling war - the mass murder of one group that never fights back by a second group - I call annihilation or slaughter or genocide. If you want to call what Hitler did to the Jews, union members, gypsies, and Bolsheviks a war, OK. To me this is not war. War is what happened after the allies started hitting back.

I also personally don't think we're going to get the country back from people like the speaker in the OP by expressing outrage in a DU thread. His side is fighting a war, and our side is "retaliating" by rolling our eyes and saying, "let's go vote!" here is only one way that such a conflict can end, and it's not good for the side that's rolling their eyes. Go back to your example of Hitler's enemies to see the future if we continue to do nothing.

Something on the order of 20+ million Chinese died during the 2nd Sino-Japanese war, with Communist and Nationalist Chinese fighting against Japan. Communist China says 35 million. Military casualties alone suffered by the Chinese are estimated to be 3.7 million KIA. So let's call it a nice 27 million dead at the hands of Japanese conservatives.

Oh, wait, we have to add in the rest of the Pacific!

Let's see... that's about 6.5 million. Plus the 3 million Japanese killed following their conservative leaders... that bumps it up to just about 38 million. In the Pacific.



Hitler murdered 12 million in his death camps. Half were Jews, the rest gays, gypsies, Slavs, union leaders, communists, socialists, and free-thinking intellectuals. (Obviously, Hitler was a left-winger...)

Plus, Hitler's armies killed 26 million in Russia and 8 million in Europe. So that's a nice round 46 million killed at the hands of German conservatives!

Oh, plus the 6 million or so non-Jewish Germans killed following Hitler's government and the half-million dead Italian fascists. Let's call it 53 million total.

53 million plus 38 million puts us at about 91 million people dead from RW aggression from 1931 to 1945.




Whew, my fingers are tired from counting! Yet, somehow... us dirty dirty liberals managed to kill ELEVEN TIMES that amount without waging a third world war or using nukes!


And it didn't come from WW1... that total was less than 17 million killed.



Wow... I guess they're counting every single abortion, miscarriage, and wasted sperm from masturbating teenagers from 1910 to 2010.




Oh, now I'm sure that Stalin killed a few tens of millions of Russians on his own before the war, and the Chinese Communists killed at least that many in their post-WW2 civil war and the resultant purges after Communist victory.


Of course, the conservative Nixon managed to kill a million or two Vietnamese without nukes, and Eisenhower knocked off a few hundred thousand North Koreans and Chinese in the early 50's.





But the real consistency here is AUTHORITARIANISM. Hitler, Hirohito, Stalin, Mao, Kim, Ho, Mussolini, were all hot and bothered about AUTHORITARIANISM government, whether from the left or the right.
