2. What's really chilling? When a few DU posters express this same attitude
Edited on Sun Aug-07-11 06:48 AM by Divernan
in support of Obama's "sacred cow" spew. Not you, OP, of course. And the fact that I even had to qualify my comment like that speaks to the incredible spinning that goes on around here whenever anyone even remotely implies a critique of Obama's policies.

Tony Auth is an American treasure. I think he should get a lifetime achievement Pulitzer Prize in addition to the first one he was awarded nearly 35 years ago.

"William Anthony Auth Jr. (born May 7, 1942, in Akron, Ohio), better known as Tony Auth, is an editorial cartoonist for The Philadelphia Inquirer, where he has worked since 1971. His other work includes the comic strip Full Disclosure, which he worked on in 1982 and 1983, and Norb, which he worked on in 1989. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1976 and the Herblock Prize in 2005.
Auth attended UCLA and worked on the Daily Bruin, the school newspaper."

3. It's chilling because any of us can end up in that cart
And because the folks who should be there (Banksters and fraudsters) are sitting back, laughing and egging the crowd on.

People really seem to have lost the ability to imagine themselves 'in someone else's shoes'. Unless, of course, those shoes are Gucci loafers....

4. You can thank television for that
You don't see shows where people are actually struggling. You see shows where everyone is successful, has plenty of money and their greatest concern is social relationships.

6. That's one word for it, yes
Having argued for poverty solutions here, even on DU I find the Meme of "There are no poor people in America that aren't lazy"

Myths are powerful, aren't they?
