I think it might be part of a bigger plan to continue tearing down the Obama Presidency? Why did not Moody's downgrade the country's credit? Why just the S&P ?

Something smells in Denmark. This has Republican dirty trick all over it and it stinks to high heaven.

The downgrade was an action that was not necessary. It seems to this novice that it was done for purely political reasons. Anyone else smell that rat?

6. The Obama Admin knew this was a possibility way back in lame duck 2010

when the Bush tax cuts were due to expire and Obama had BOTH houses of Congress. Hard action should have occurred then. If there's a rat, I am looking towards the Dems who fully understood the political landscape then.

If you don't pay your credit cards, the interest goes up... In terms of the national debt it is similar, except that for people to lend you money the interest goes up when you are not as likely to repay. It's basic economics.
