An interesting observation at local TARGET
so I had to go get some of them refreezable ice blocs, and the books were right there. Folks, there was NOT a one political book there... NOT A ONE. They used to carry the usual crap. It struck me as ... interesting.

13. I'm using one of those now
in order to give my AC a rest for 30 min or so.

Have to wrap in a dish towel and move often so it doesn't burn. Back of the neck, top of the head, under one leg and then the other. Now leaning against it sandwiched between the chair back and body.

where all you find are right wing leaning books besides the general selection.

9. That used to be the local target
and I got to wonder if they got protests or they decided that this ain't gonna sell and probably drives some people away? Makes one wonder since the last time I checked Glenny's opus, for example, was proudly displayed.

12. Their stock is better, or it used to be
A three dollar more expensive microwave can be a thousand percent better in quality. Their clothing can last 20 washings instead of 10.

Still, their CEO is a raving asshole and the staff are suffering because of him. I cringe when I need something, but it's either Target or K Mart for me because Wally's quality is so poor.

19. I never quite understood that...
Edited on Sat Aug-06-11 04:14 PM by AsahinaKimi
As most of us know, most Tea baggers can't spell, so why would they want a right wing book, when they probably couldn't read it in the first place? I mean, maybe they should start their own Right Wing comic book group, at least it would reach their target audience.

Then again, most great comic book writers and artists are probably smart enough, not to be tea baggers.

21. I used to wonder the same thing when I lived in left leaning San Francisco
I mean, why would people who willingly accept being told what to believe, ever want to read books? But then I moved to one of the right wing, red neck, neo-fascist enclaves of California (southern rim of Yosemite), and I finally understood: They put them on their coffee tables to impress all of their friends who can't read either.

Living Far From the Madding Crowd has been nice, but don't ever seriously consider leaving San Francisco. The eclectic music scene in The City is worth it alone!

23. Oh no! I could never leave, and heres why ...
1.June, July and Augest -average temperatures in the 60's with Fog till noon, then returning fog at 4:30pm.

2.San Francisco has the largest Asian population than any city.

3.San Francisco has the largest Nihonmachi (Japantown) out of three, in the entire USA. (The other two being in San Jose and Los Angeles.)

4. San Francisco probably has more ethnic restaurants than any city in the United States.

5. San Francisco has the largest Chinatown in the entire USA.

6. You can find almost anything you wish in San Francisco, including Restaurants that deliver
Japanese food, Chinese food including dim sum, Thai Food, Middle Eastern food, Indian and Pakistani food, Vegetarian dishes, Seafood, Italian food, or even a Turkey Burger!

7. You really don't need a car, as public transportation will take you anywhere !

8. The diversity of the neighborhoods!

9. Professional Baseball (2 teams), Football (two teams), Hockey(San Jose) Basketball (Oakland)

10. Great museums, cultural arts, such as Theater and Opera.

11. The ocean or the bay. Beaches or the wharf.

12. A very "Blue" city! Democrats and Liberals every where!

13. The Castro district and lovely people who live there!

14. A great big Park called The Golden Gate!

15. A day on the bay, ferry boats, fishing excursions, site seeing tours.

There is so much to stay for.. I love this city. I have traveled a lot and never found anywhere I like better, other than maybe Tahiti. But in Tahiti as nice as it was, could end up being very boring!

22. Interesting
But have there really been many released of late? Therein may lie part of the answer. The Target near me just added food and it was a bizarre experience to visit on their Grand Opening day to see shelves not stocked, cases with big empty sections and fewer hands & feet on the front end. Prices were no better than the local supermarket and it's clear they just don't get grocery.
