Vitriol?
Vitriol?

That seems to be the word that the press has chosen to describe the problem. Then they go a little further and use the phrase "tone of politics". The problem with using vitriol is that those who are most vitriolic are the people least likely to know what vitriolic means. It has far too many syllables for their vitriolic brains to decipher. Then, they are too hateful/vitriolic to look it up. And the term, "attempted assassination" is wrong in this instance, too.  Let's call this what it was and let's use words that the vitriolic can understand. Hate and murder.   

OK, Vitreos, do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?  "Hate" and "Murder".  Get me?  There you are and there YOU are.
