Excellent rant Tweety
Corporate America has no intention of hiring workers and paying them a decent salary for a full time job with benefits.

Now if I were the leadership of the Democratic Party - I'd buy billboards across America with Boehner shouting 'I got 98% of what we wanted'.

7. Tweety has been much more sane much more often
in the last few months. Much less kissing of Repuke arse. Maybe he has finally figured out how dangerous the teatalitarians (and the repukes in thrall to them) really are.

10. It was more the TRUTH than a rant....
Obama has to choose his own destiny. If he depends upon the private sector corporations, and the compromises of a disfunctional bought and paid for government--then he is done.. Only government action can create jobs on the scale we need right now. Only an activist president can do what needs to be done. If Obama doesn't do it--he really will be done.

When the audacity of hope is replaced with the austerity of fear--Obama will see not only his office, but his legacy in danger.

15. All he needs to do is start a WPA-like project going to start on infra-
structure. Our roads and bridges are in a dismal state. Plenty of people/men and women/ would line up for those jobs. Each state has their own needs, workers right there. I wish someone would get his ear on this.

16. Any WPA proposal has to be approved by Congress FIRST!!
Again, I can't understand for the life of me why people can't deal with this fact!

How can the president get a jobs bill through Congress?

The Democrats have at least 6 jobs bills that have been held up in the House.

19. Present it again, and then what? Even when Democrats controlled the House
they passed a series of jobs-related bills that were blocked in the Senate.

And, the president did talk about those bills in 2010 on the campaign trail. Nancy Pelosi gives a weekly jobs progress address. How many people know this? Does the Corporate Media even air this program?

We need to work as hard as we can to get more *progressives* in the House and Senate. We'll get killed in the Senate unless we work hard. I fear losing the Senate, if for nothing else than Republicans holding up SCOTUS justices and lower-court judges that the president nominates. They have already succeeded in obstructing most of the president's appointees.

I really think the question of what kind of leader Obama will be on job creation is very inportant. And if Obama really thinks Corporate America can be "enticed" to do the right thing with their two trillion plus nest egg--we are truly screwed. Tweety, for all the times he has been annoying--really made the point today.

Whenever I walked over a bridge in my youth, or saw the plaque on another project that was built in the 1930's--I always felt a sense of pride. Those projects were always a symbol that we could do great things in this country. These days the tea baggers are turning us into an impotent nation--and that just isn't the way it should be .
