Picking Up
Live if you want to live
(Rastaman vibration, yeah! Positive!)
That's what we got to give!
(I'n'I vibration yeah! Positive)
Got to have a good vibe!
(Iyaman Iration, yeah! Irie ites!)
Wo-wo-ooh!
(Positive vibration, yeah! Positive!)

If you get down and you quarrel everyday,
You're saying prayers to the devils, I say. Wo-oh-ooh!
Why not help one another on the way?
Make it much easier. (Just a little bit easier)

Say you just can't live that negative way,
If you know what I mean;
Make way for the positive day,
'Cause it's news (new day) - news and days -
New time (new time), and if it's a new feelin' (new feelin'), yeah! -
Said it's a new sign (new sign):
Oh, what a new day!

Pickin' up?
Are you pickin' up now?
Jah love - Jah love (protect us);
Jah love - Jah love (protect us);
Jah love - Jah love (protect us).
The Prophet Bob Marley; Positive Vibrations

I had a phone call today from the elderly woman who serves as the Clan Mother for my circle of friends and relatives. We talked mainly about the on-going struggle to protect our water from the process of hydro-fracking. As always, or so it seems, I am being assigned to attend public “town board” meetings; to give speeches here and there; to write to various elected representatives; and to pen letters to all of the local and regional newspapers.

She sounded tired. Last month, her husband of fifty years – one of my closest friends – died unexpectedly. She has at least one million responsibilities, each one pulling her in the opposite direction of healing herself. At one point, she expressed some guilt about the creeping feeling that the dark force, which motivates not only the purely evil villains such as Dick Cheney, but which also clouds the perception of too many other somewhat decent people, is going to win out.

We all have questions and inner conflicts from time to time. That is part and parcel of this human condition in the strangest of times. And at such moments, it is good to take a short break and to listen to Bob Marley, or whatever music helps re-energize and inspire you.

Carry on!

2. Is boxing dead?
Has extreme fighting usurped the corrupted construct of "The Multi-Belt World" of boxing?

Sorry for the thread hijack but I figger you appreciate(d) it as much as me.

3. No.
Not at all. Floyd Mayweather, Jr., returns to the ring in about six weeks. And there are lots and lots of high-quality fights each and every month.

I do not like the "paper titles." They are nothing more than promotional gimmicks.

Agreed- but if a fight happens in the woods does anybody see it?

not giving up. I live in the collar counties outside of Chicago. Have had a number of people recently ask me about when we should take to the streets in protest. I think the tide is turning in our favor and the politicians haven't a clue how angry we the people are.

Not one clue.

http://pvs.kcc.hawaii.edu/ Hokule'a is the brightest star in the sky, used by the ancestors to find Hawai'i. They were amazing. They used visualization to see the place they were seeking. We need to see the reality we want to create, and not just react to the rain falling now.

Lift your bow, your hull slice through the sea
Glide Hokule'a, Lord we ask you please

blow Makani (the wind), shout jubilation
carry us forward to our destination
Ho'o wikiwiki o teala Kahiki
Millions of stars up in the sky
looking up, they all make us cry
Hokule'a, Star of Gladness

Eo!
