So if North Dakota isn't technically a state,
I say hold out until they trade voting rights for DC.

Currently, ND has 1 Dem Senator, 1 Rep Senator and 1 Rep Rep. So we lose 1, they lose 2 AND their tendency to give their electoral votes to Republicans.

2. How can ND not technically be a state if SD is?
They were admitted simultaneously.

Or can we also get rid of Thune et al? :P

4. Colbert brought this up
I wasn't paying attention, but I gather there is something not in the ND state Constitution that should have been and that's why its statehood is in question.

7. Yes.
In all honesty though, I heard this before from some other source. It while ago, though and I don't remember where.

I should've put a reference to it. Sorry everyone who came in with no clue as to what I was talking about.

10. Does that mean the Bank of ND isn't really a bank? Only state owned bank in USA
http://www.banknd.nd.gov/

Welcome!

As the only state-owned bank in the nation we act as a funding resource in partnership with other financial institutions, economic development groups and guaranty agencies. We have four established business areas: Student Loans, Lending Services, Treasury Services and Banking Services. BND’s support services and dedicated employees provide you with the best customer service.

How about the ND Mill? Only state owned Mill in the nation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Dakota_Mill_and_Elevator
The North Dakota Mill and Elevator is the largest flour mill in the United States. It is located in the city of Grand Forks, North Dakota. The Mill is owned by the U.S. state of North Dakota and is the only state-owned milling facility in the United States.

11. Well, I divorced her sister, and she's (ex-sis-in-law) is divorcing him.
So at this point I'm not sure if I no longer exist, or if he no longer exists!

8. Some say Texas' statehood was never properly ratified, either, and we would...
win really big there.

And maybe nobody born in the Republic of Texas could run for President.

12. But what about sovereignty???
Rick Perry the secessionist should launch his campaign there, he can work backwards and remove one star off the flag at a time.

13. If the Senate
If the Senate loses two of its members, would that reduce the 60 vote rule to 59? 58? Or not at all? If we're talking about dropping one of ours, it seems like we should at least consider that kind of thing.
