What's Wrong With This Picture?

Answer: Where is everybody? Usually, they have a dozen or so smiling congressman standing behind the president as he signs a bill into law. But nobody wants to be linked with this "satan sandwich."

9. To hand out to the dozen or so smiling congressman standing behind the president...
...as he signs a bill into law.

I not certain but I believe the president traditionally uses several pens, each one for a part of his signature, and these are given out as mementos.

But no one is there!

2. President Obama asked to be alone to sign it. He wanted all the blame to
fall on his shoulders and his alone, rather than on the Democratic Party as a whole. And I appreciate that he did that.

13. You wouldn't know that by reading here though
DU has seriously gone down hill these last couple years. Seems like once bush the lesser was gone many here turned on our own President. Hell anyone with half a brain knows that the President is only one third of the the three branches of government. Again you wouldn't know that by reading here though.

16. It is. But I think he knew it could/would be like this.
And he gets it.

I still remember his clearly saying he isn't running to get a second term, he is running to get things done - even tho they may be unpopular.
It sure is turning out that way. And I am hoping that he does not run in 2012, the man needs a long rest and holiday after all that jackal biting.

You don't really remember what your enemies said, but you do remember when your friends were silent.

I will be his friend, and a loud mouthed one at that

11. ok - the bill sucks BUT Boehner, Cantor, Reid, Pelosi, and McConnel should be there
Obama always plays the "compromise" card, the "bipartisan" card - even though it always means repukes get the upper hand and we get screwed.

I would HOPE that this lonely signing might help him CHANGE the way he deals with these arrogant, uncompromising partisan hacks.

If that is all we get out of this shit sandwich it will be enough.

24. Nice. Have a tall cold one for me.
If you can keep one cold in this weather, that is.

By the way, where are all the "global warming" naysayers this summer? They're all about how there can't be "global warming" because, you know, it SNOWS in New York and Washington, D.C., in the middle of WINTER and all that. So even in their mistaken "logic" it would stand to reason that hot-as-hell summers would SUPPORT the "global warming" theory, right? But not a peep.
