It is time to start thinking in the long term.
Edited on Wed Aug-03-11 06:22 PM by Chisox08
I hate to say but the conservatives had the right idea when it comes to taking political power. They fought the long fight while we only thought about the next election. In order to get real change we are going to have to start the ground work in taking over the Democratic party from the DLC conservaDems. First we are going to have to take over our party at the local level. While we our building up our side we need to be tearing down theirs.
Obama has to re-elected in 2012 just because of the Supreme Court, and I hope he appoints a real Liberal to the court instead of a moderate. Regaining control of the Supreme Court will go a long way in regaining political control. The Supreme Court is full of politicians in robes and we need to get a few more left leaning robed politicians on the court. As part of tearing down their side Citizens United must get overturned. In order for our Democracy to survive we must get the corporate money out of our elections. The Koch brothers don't run this country we the people do.

Next we must primary DLC and ConservaDems and get out the vote in both primary and general elections. The Republicons only win when the vote turnout is low. That is why they are trying to suppress the vote in the states that they have won in the past elections. Not only do we have to get out the vote we must make it easier for people to vote. If you look at the districts that the Teabaggers won they won by less than a 1000 votes.

We need to attack the Republicons every chance we get and do apologize for it. VP Biden was correct in calling the teabaggers terrorist. Play just as dirty as the Republicons. They call the Democratic party the Democrat party. They call us Communist, Socialist and they say that we are unAmerican. In fact it is the Republicons who are unAmerican. They are the ones who hate America and the American workers. Every time their are massive layoffs we need to point out the Republicon legislation that helped send your job overseas.

Next we need to get the Democratic party to stand for helping the American people, taxing the rich and corporations and bringing back jobs. If they did that the Democrats would be mopping the floor with the Republicons. If they don't we need to replace them with Democrats that will.
