Extra Bonus Quote of the Day: What we did learn is this -- it's a hostage that's worth ransoming

"I think some of our members may have thought the default issue was a hostage you might take a chance at shooting. Most of us didn't think that. What we did learn is this -- it's a hostage that's worth ransoming. And it focuses the Congress on something that must be done."

-- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), quoted by the Washington Post, on the debt ceiling negotiations.

(snip)
After it was all over, Obama seemed to speak for revolted Americans — the kind of people who always want a new Washington — when he described the government as “dysfunctional.”

But at the Capitol, behind the four doors and the three receptionists and the police guard, McConnell said he could imagine doing this again.

“I think some of our members may have thought the default issue was a hostage you might take a chance at shooting,” he said. “Most of us didn’t think that. What we did learn is this — it’s a hostage that’s worth ransoming. And it focuses the Congress on something that must be done.”

If you don't want to be called a terrorist, then don't brag about taking the US economy hostage

1. This is exactly the reason Obama needed to use the 14th Amendment
If it withstood a legal challenge later it would have eliminated the opportunity to use economic terrorism in the future by the conservatives.

3. Shouldn't this be grounds
for arrest? For treason or something?

4. That is PURE Tunnel Vision.
Widen out your focus, and look at the last 3 years for context.

There were several avenues open to The Democrats that could have avoided the entire
"OMG. They have a hostage" & "Who could have predicted THIS!!!???" Kabuki Theater.

This young reporter laid it ALL out during a Press Conference with Obama LAST December.
View the following video, and get back to me.

The way to successfully deal with a Hostage Crisis
is to avoid the Hostage Crisis.

The last week was either a HUGE Failure of Leadership,
or
Another very successful SCAM.

Who will STAND and FIGHT for THIS American Majority?
You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their excuses.
