"Thank you Andrea, and your last story about the history of the meeting room carpet of the Federal Reserve Board was informative and great reporting. Tim Russert's son here in Chevy Chase Maryland with the Roark family to talk to them about the challenges of being the last Democrats in America, and how they came to this position."
"So Mr. Roark, tell us a bit about yourself and your family."
"Well, Tim Russert's son, I am a good solid Democrat, and we, I mean Bitsy and I, kind of found out today we are the last Democrats."
"So it's a surprise then?"
"Oh indeedy! We always supported our party, and I guess we could of paid more attention, but with a career and all, who has the time? We are rather pragmatic and level headed, so we saw that certain changes were needed for the Democratic party to remain strong, and President Obama was the person to make those changes. I mean, unions? Really. It's 2012. Of course the HCR was important, but we pay our own premiums. The contination of TARP, and the bank bailouts were really meant to save our economy, and I think it has, as things are improving every day. My broker and I play golf together, and he is very positive with the newest round of help for the banks".
"Then things are looking good for our last Democratic family then?"
"Very much so, with things looking good for President Obama winning a second term. That debt extension really showed the republicans who was in charge, and now that the President is working with them and the Committee to extend the Bush/Obama tax cuts into 2016, that means a nice future for the Roarks. We are very happy, my job at a Health Insurance Company is secure, and with the growth of the Healthcare Insurance market, the sky is the limit."
"So there you have it Andrea, the last Democrats in America are tough and resourcefull, a lesson for us all".
