1. He's hammering the right wing bs. And saying Obama needs to speak more forcefully about our vision.
If Al Gore is telling someone to liven it up, they must really need it.

It felt good to hear Gore's voice, even if I still have the memory of his being less than left to where I wanted him to be. And less than forceful.

Good stuff.

4. About the vision thing -
Can someone articulate Obama's vision for our country?

Just today a non-political friend who works in construction said to me (expecting me to defend Obama): "Obama just doesn't seem to feel the country's pain, my pain. I thought that is what a Democratic President does. That is what Carter did. That is what Bill did. You are a Democrat. Does Obama even care that we are losing it out here?"

7. He sorta did in his 2004 convention speech.
It sounded great at the time: no red America, no blue America. I guess we tuned out the "no blue America" part.

5. Yeah. He was wonderful tonight!
Kicking butt. Holding back some, but it wasn't hard to read between the lines.

12. During his interview with Keith
I thought he was less than forceful - he said something about having to have a talk with Obama - as if 1. he won't have to stand in line behind or in front of all of the others Obama has disappointed who want to have a talk with him and 2. Obama would listen to him or anyone else to the left of Axelrod, et. al. who think that he is in trouble and making mistakes

11. Did you see the second interview...
...with Al Gore tonight? It was excellent. I tried to find a link on Current and via Twitter, but I don't think it is up yet. I'll post it when it is. :hi:

3. Oh God, what if Al were to pick LIBerfuman again: hasn't LIBerfuman already indicated
social security might have to be scrapped to provide the necessary funds for fighting the Islamic terraists? After all, beau-coup gazillion gallons of gas costing $4 to $8 a gallon are used in Afghanistan alone. :patriot:

9. No not really, but I'm still disgusted with Al's pick for running mate in 2000, this from a Gore fan
since his maternal grandfather was campaign manager for Al Gore, Sr. during his first run for the Senate. :patriot:

10. We can't afford a wush like Gore.
We're in too much trouble as it is because we've depended too much on wushy non-fighters like Gore. He had his chance and blew it. Gore insulted Clinton, sucked up to Lieberman, and refused to fight for an election he clearly won. That's enough.

13. Gore contested the 2000 florida vote count longer than any contested election in U.S. History
and this was done against overwhelming odds, with the Republicans controlling the Florida governorship, legislature, both houses of the U.S. Congress, the Supreme Court and the corporate media.

"Wush" Gore also stood by Clinton when Clinton needed him the most on the White House Lawn to prevent from being impeached and convicted by the Congress.

Then after having Gore stand up for his integrity, Clinton betrayed Gore both on national television with the blatant lie, when he should have either told the truth or kept his mouth shut, (either case would have been better for Gore's political election prospects) and also during the self aggrandizing eternal walk down the hall just so the cameras could gaze at Clinton's elegance wasting precious prime-time air time; that could have been used to promote Al during the Convention that was to nominate Gore for President.

Clinton with his reckless and arrogant behavior coming even when he knew the Republicans were gunning for him with their continuous witch-hunt from day one of his administration damaged Gore's election chances particularly in the moderate to conservative areas of the nation.

Finally by his behavior Clinton greatly limited Gore's political options in choosing a running mate as Lieberman was one of the few Democrats willing to criticize Clinton's lack of integrity and Gore needed a counter balance.
