Will TeaFarty / GOP own the Sinking Economy and Job Loss
I think we all agree they Do Own it but more properly will they be allowed to spin the pending downturn in the Economy on the Dems

BTW: Leading Economic Indicators are pointing towards a prolonged retraction - is if many of us ever got out of the last one

2. In the public mind...
... the blame seems to be attached to "both sides", in the usual disgust not with the party creating the mess, but with "government". At least, based on the polls discussed on NPR today.

They should own it. The Other Party has been more-or-less deliberately screwing things up for ages, but they end up profiting from it.

4. doubtful.
that would require the news media to report what's going on. and in this age of "balance," if the sun is shining, you have to have on a guy who claims it's raining and give him equal time. this is the tea party. and this is why they've come so far. if the press was doing its sacred job, the tea party would be nothing more than a 21st century john birch society - crazies rightfully marginalized by the media. but fox news has everyone so shit-scared of being called "liberal," that they've gotten CNN, MSNBC, and the other networks to sign off on this bullshit idea of "balance."

6. Yes , but we do Not have a Democratic Party willing to get out publicly
and turn it around and cram it down their throats.

You might discern I am ready to go for the jugular.

7. Unfortunately, Obama has repeatedly adopted their false narrative..
blaming deficit and debt for our ills.

It will be impossible for him to turn away from that position now.

8. Nope not a chance, they'll just scream louder for
bigger spending cuts and more tax cuts. They will continue to blame Obama even though he's implemented all of their economic policies. How fucking sad is that?

9. No. They will blame Obama, as they've planned all along, and HE WILL LET THEM. Watch.

11. The public will blame Obama. Period.
Don't believe any happy talk or polls that show Boehner and McConnell or the Republicans less popular than the President. THAT. DOES. NOT. MATTER. A re-election campaign is a referendum on the President. Oh, Obama and our best strategists will claim it's a choice. It's a choice they'll say over and over, just like we argued in 2010. Will not make any difference. 2012 will be a referendum on Obama's first term. If the Republicans nominate an absolutely crazy bagger then the choice argument will have a little more sway, but if they nominate someone like Romney or Pawlenty or even Perry, the election will be virtually entirely a referendum on the President.
