MSNBC has signed Rachel Maddow to a new contract in a deal that extends her spot at the network at least into 2014, according to TVNewser.

“I’m really, really happy in this job and to have the chance to extend it for a few more years, especially with the year we’re about to have, is a real blessing,” she told the New York Times.

"This deal was about wanting more years doing what I’ve been doing."

Her new contract comes amid a lawsuit seeking in excess of $50 million. Attorney Larry Klayman, the founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, filed a lawsuit against Maddow in July for reporting on the anti-gay, anti-Muslim rhetoric of Bradlee Dean, the head of a heavy metal-based Christian ministry in Minnesota.

"Maddow’s career is over,” Klayman said.

1. The lawsuit probably helped her win a better contract
The lawsuit is absolutely frivolus so MSNBC knows that they will not only win but be able to make Bradlee Dean pay all the legal fees. In the meantime publicity from the lawsuit will bring increased attention to Maddow which means higher ratings. Rachel Maddow is going to have to thank Bradlee Dean once this is over.

3. Rachel Maddow is what I thing a liberal intellectual is all about...
She doesn't try to copy the bombast of the right wing yackers. She is confident in her message and it shows that you don't have to be a bully or a loudmouth to sway thinking people....

4. Arrogant Larry doesn't stand a chance in this law suit..
Bradly Dean is a "Public Figure", and the ability to win a slander suit against a public figure is almost untenable. he has to prove 'intentional Malice".

6. That should answer any questions about whether or not she would join Keith
She's at the beginning of a fantastic career, and she's better off with MSNBC.. and she;s also the smartest anchor MSNBC has:)
