Letter to my Senator who voted 'yes'
Shared Sacrifice? Apparently we are choosing to put the burden on (as the President said) "those of us who can least afford it".

With your 2012 campaign coming up, I am going to ask that you place me on your do not call and do not mail lists. I will take care of unsubscribing to your email list. I'll be too busy working for local candidates this election and won't have time to assist so would prefer not to be bothered by your staff and volunteers.

1. Really? What, pray tell, are you objecting to?
The total lack of cuts on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, veteran's benefits, or any means-tested program? The fact that well over half the cuts come out of defense and homeland security? The fact that none of the cuts even start until 2013?

My line in the sand.

3. The Republicans in the House were never going to pass revenues.
They're putting enough of a target on their backs with the Tea Partiers just voting to raise the debt ceiling, let alone "raising taxes" whether they went up or not.

4. My guy is up for re-election. They didn't NEED his vote.
He doesn't stand for anything, then I don't have time to help him. Easy as that.
