"Special Bulletin", don't miss this WONDERFUL movie about MSM news coverage
Why does MSM cover news? To sell ad time. It is that simple. If you can find this movie, please watch it, esp for those here who are already cynical. Manufacture a Crisis (tm) rather than give the news.

I saw this when it was on tv, walked in on the middle of it and had to watch for a while to see if it was real. It is about MS news coverage and is wonderful. Watching and hearing the news this last week reminded me of it. "When this film was first broadcast, the network superimposed the word "dramatization" on the bottom of the screen every few minutes and ran disclaimers after every commercial break, to remind people it was only a movie. That didn't stop some people in Charleston, S.C. from panicking anyway."

A TV reporter and cameraman are taken hostage on a tugboat while covering a workers strike. The demands of the hostage-takers are to collect all the nuclear detonators in the Charleston, SC area so they may be detonated at sea. They threaten to detonate a nuclear device of their own of their demand isnt met.

2. I knew it was fake going in.
Still a riveting, well made TV movie. It was available on DVD through the Warner Archive M.O.D. site, but not at present time.
