should we not update SS and medicare before they privatize the whole dam thing? I know this is not going to be a popular thing to say but don't we have to do something before the GOP have total control over what is done? Am I just a patsy to their fearmongering? Because I could handle means testing and such. If Obama gets a supermajority in the 2012 election should he take the opportunity to put medicare (make it universal) and SS (means test it) on surer footing?

1. If they get there, we lose regardless of the steps we take to gut it ourselves.

It won't happen unless we keep giving them messaging victories like today's was. Medicare cuts went from our number one issue to the thing we're proposing to do ourselves.

Hope there is a grand strategy because I can't see it.
