The following people are not really Democrats:

Barack Obama
Harry Reid
Nancy Pelosi
Al Franken
John Kerry
Gabby Giffords
Stenny Hoyer

All of them either voted yes for, announced they are voting yes for, or are going to sign the debt deal.

...and many, many others. 95 in the House and close to 40 in the Senate (when they vote tomorrow).

All of them DINO/DLC/Third Way, apparently. Who would've thought that about Al Franken and Nancy Pelosi, eh?

OR I'd have to believe he's got a diabolical scheme like this:

Either the President is strong or weak? Which is it? Why does it feel the working people are losing ground?

Edited on Mon Aug-01-11 07:54 PM by MadMaddie
Remember the election in 2010? Remember all of those people that told everyone else not to vote? Anyone remember that? Well Elections have consequences and the consequence of this situation is that the Democratic Party and the President were put in a situation that they should not have, if people would have voted like they should have instead of throwing a temper tantrum over their impatience we would not have Teabaggers in Congress....

I don't know if you are being sarcastic....it's hard to tell from all the posts these days..

33. I remember 2010. Too bad the Demcorats did not listen
to those who warned them it was going to happen. Rahm always knew best, didn't he?

And sadly it's more than likely to happen again. NOT because of progressives, because of this party's policies, so contrary to the Democratic Platform they claim to represent.

Independents stayed home in 2010 and polls show they are not likely to show up for Democrats in 2012 either. After this epic failure to stand up for ordinary people, THIS time even progressives may not show up.

But then, Progressives are not important anyhow, as they are often reminded 'they have no power'.

Yet here you are attributing great power to them, even though of course you are wrong. THEY showed up, but others did not.

So, which is it, are Progressive Democrats and their retarded ideas needed or not? Seems the Party can't decide.

Any Democrat who will NOT defend Social Security, is NOT a real Democrat.
There's only a few differences between the Republicans and the Democrats now, and that is one of them.

39. You'll get hungry sooner or later. Democrats are so stupid at this type of thing, they don't even
know how bad they fucked themselves.
If any Democrat gets re-elected who voted for this steaming pile of shit, then it can only be explained one of 2 ways --
their opponent is even worse, so the "lesser of 2 evils" voting scheme comes into play,
or,
people in their district just don't care what a Democrat stands for anymore.

Half of the people in this country are on medication of some kind.
The other half needs to be.

The super Congress, the star chamber idea, is what really stinks.
The rest of them don't have to work at all now, just pass off whatever little problem they have to the star chamber.
Hell, they don't even need to clock in anymore for debates, just show up for votes and go golfing with Boehnor in-between the star chamber announcements that they have reached a deal of some kind.
It's like roller derby for federal government, the best 6 man/women team they have up against the best 6 man/women team we have, and then they go around in circles and more circles until someone blows the whistle.

Maybe when the amoral sociopaths in the Republican party propose legislation for hunting down the old and sick to get rid of useless eaters, you'll be cheering for Obama and any Dem who goes along with him for proposing strict limits on the number of hunting licenses.

The President unilaterally took all other options off the table. The satan sandwich was the best deal they were going to get and they knew it.

Their only other alternative was open rebellion against a Democratic President, and I'm not so sure Reid and Pelosi didn't seriously consider it.
