On Indepedents: There is not group of people sitting someplace
who think and act as a block. Independents are
people who for different reason really do not
want to belong to a party. Some are disgruntled
ex-Democrats and ex-Republicans. Basically
Independents are people who do not belong to
a party but their individual philosophy lines
up with either Republicans or Democrats. Therefore,
if they are more impressed with one party at election
time they vote with that party. As I mentioned
before this group also contains ex-Dems and ex-Repub.

There is no group sitting around with some middle
of the road thinking. Since they are not involved
with the parties they can easily swing back and forth.

I am writing this because the Media is always yipping
about Independents. OMG Obama is losing Independents.

I swear not two weeks ago it was OMG the Independents are
absolutely turned off by the Tea Party. Jesus Christ
the Republicans are losing Independents.

Common Sense Please: No one is this fickle. If they
are willing to swing 180 degrees in a week, the Media
had best not count on their judgement. Does not sound
too wise.

Lesson here do not get too overwrought over polls. The Media
is too adept at pulling them out of a hat anymore. Listen
but think things through. Does it make sense.

2. My husband is an independent--that's because he wants to maintain
the "cool" factor of not belonging to a party, doesn't want to be strongly identified by political affiliation, and gets to avoid having to explain or apologize for a party's various mistakes, losses, and elected goofballs. Really, it's kind of a shortcoming of character, but I can overlook it for his other good qualities. :)

3. I am an Independent, have NEVER belonged to any Party
I am a LIBERAL to the nth degree and am not really pleased with how our President has capitulated to the Right Wing..He states in his speeches that Republican Policy is bad for America and then he signs off on them as if no one remembers what he just said..I am one of those Independents that is tetering on the brink of not voting because I am afraid what more damage Obama has in mind. Yes a Republican would sound worse but IMO Democrats would oppose them and NEVER allow them to do what they are allowing Obama to do..
