Krugman said it all in four sentences

In the long run, however, Democrats won’t be the only losers. What Republicans have just gotten away with calls our whole system of government into question. After all, how can American democracy work if whichever party is most prepared to be ruthless, to threaten the nation’s economic security, gets to dictate policy? And the answer is, maybe it can’t.

58. They should represent us then.
They are doing a piss poor job of it. Classifying the entire congress and president as failures would be giving them too much credit.

The entire bunch of them received hundreds of thousands of phone calls and e-mails begging them to:

1. Raise taxes on the wealthy.

2. Protect medicare and social security.

Did they do what "we the people" wanted? No they did not. And from the moment Obama took office he has been protecting the interests of a criminal Wall Street and Bush Administration. I don't care how much one personally likes Obama, this is simply unforgivable and is, in fact, dereliction of duty.

Then they pull off 9/11. Then they pulled off the Iraq War. They then faked the results of the 2004 election. Then the great economic collapse of 2008. Then they pulled off the great Obama deception.

Believe me, they have more operations and wars planned for our future.

anyone going to get them to back down?

they are in this position taking us to the edge because they believe the talk radio gods, who's main job the last few months was to get us to this point.

they and most of the other republicans are irrational and for months limbaugh has been telling them not raising the debt ceiling is no big deal- the debt had to paid by law, and then the cuts to would have to be made and finally the public employees and teachers and unions who he calls parasites and bottom feeders would be done with.

their gods hannity and limbaugh and their wannabes at the local level have been selling them the same heritage foundation bullshit and the left has no clue. they were going to go all the way- it was up to the left to get into the streets and protest at those limbaugh megastations if they wanted to get noticed.

that's the true republican leadership and they hide behind call screeners and feel no consequences for their lies and until the left figures that out this crap will continue like it has been for the last 20 years when reagan killed the fairness doctrine

71. RW only sends out robots -- recall that GOP members were given tapes ....
with the "party line" every week in old days --

Also recall that the GOP gave start up funding for the Christian Coalition --

and Richard Scaife funded Dobson's group -- and other wealthy rw financed Bauer's org.

GOP/"pro-life" -- financed by white Christian militia groups --

got their protesters from methadone clinics and paid them.

GOP/NRA -- they radicalized the NRA and used it to target not only liberals and moderates

in the Democratic Party, but liberals and moderates in their own party -- thereby by

moving the Congress way to the right --

Koch Bros. is funding the T-baggers -- and certainly there is a script -- and it is run

out of a PR firm which guarantees them publicity!!

Koch Bros. funded the DLC which was harbored within the Dem Party for 20 years --

infiltrating the party and influencing its agenda -- its candidates -- including its

presidential candidates.

The entire right wing is a house of cards -- with dozens of rw think tanks and fake movements --

that's why they have to so tightly control our corporate press -- and why they have to

steal elections --

and why we've had 50 years of rw political violence -- out in the open!!

And it's not all because this is a rw nation --

63. Over it tonight.....I'm usually a positive person, but I just don't care anymore.
Our party is just as bad. We may be a bit more covert, but we are tied to Corporate interest as well. Time and time again I have seen true progressives wiped out in primaries, just so some (insert fake branding name) Democrat can go on to the General and then do diddle squat when the get to Congress.

Case in point. 2008 our party never expected 60 seats. When they realized they could actually get something done and that we were going to hold them to it, they slowed down legislation (Healthcare) to fill up their calendar.

Epic fail I believe and is the reason most of us could give a crap.
