Tea Partiers Will be Primaried in 2012
Look for a purge of the Tea Party in 2012. Potential opponents are quietly being lined up, and pledges of support are already being solicited.

Tea Partiers have made far more of a nuisance of themselves to other Republicans than they have to Democrats. The most stubborn and obnoxious of them will almost certainly be challenged for re-election to a second term. Boehner doesn't want them around, and neither do any of the other mainstream Republicans.

Betcha Harry Reid is glad the Tea Party nominated Sharron Angle. There's no telling what might have happened if Reid hadn't been there over the past couple of weeks!

1. Or the opposite. They made a stink and they won. Look for more teabaggers
Had they made a mess and been slapped down, we'd see them driven out, but they've flexed their wills and they won.

2. It will be a war within the Republican Party
Teanderthals will primary traditional republicans and traditional republicans will primary teanderthals...there is no peaceful coexistence between the two...they cannot both exist in Congress.

4. It is too early to say
The Teabaggers are doing exactly what they campaigned on and were elected on. That usually plays well with your constituents. I think the Republicans will look at polling to assess the attitude of the country and the party before deciding.

Let's be honest - they have been very effective. It would be a mistake to underestimate the strength of the conservatives.

5. They have been effective. But I am wondering if their supporters
might not be having a bit of buyer's remorse right about now. 'Be careful what you wish for; you just might get it.'

Of course that is assuming the Teananderthals (liking that term!) are bright enough to understand that they are being hurt by all this.

6. What would have happened?
Angle would not be Senate Majority Leader, she would be a freshman senator. Maybe Schumer would have ended up majority leader.
