On August 1, 1971, George Harrison and Ravi Shankar staged two concerts at New York's Madison Square Garden that brought together a star-studded cast of musicians to alert the world to the plight of the Bangladeshi people, victims of simultaneous floods, famine and civil war. The Concert for Bangladesh, which supported UNICEF's programs in the country was the first benefit concert of its kind.

I still have my three-record boxed set Concert for Bangladesh which I purchased those many years ago. I haven't listened in a long time, even though I have a record player with which to do so. I have some paper-work to do tomorrow; I'll use the time to listen again. Glad to hear it's still around supporting a good cause.
