The teabaggers are fanatics
So don't hold your breath waiting for them to be reasonable, because they won't. They are as focused as any suicide bomber can be...and are just as willing for YOU to die for their beliefs.

It is important to grasp this concept because this is what we are up against.

2. The Tea Party should be called The Kamikaze Party
Just like modern suicide bombers if you aren't afraid to die in the blast there isn't much to do to stop them.

4. And they are completely delusional on top of that
Seriously. They are divorced from anything remotely resembling reality. They are a clear and present danger and should be dealt with as such.

7. How Do We Deal with them Effectively?
Too many idiots don't yet believe they are totally loony. We have folks vying for the republican nomination that espouse their dumb ass beliefs yet are not laughed out of the room as they should be by the press. Until there are catastrophic consequences such as a temporary default they will not be seen as the maniacs they are. Yes I know we will all suffer for their actions but any resolution short of default will not be acceptable to most dems either.

6. They are terrorists who are sending this country to hell in a handbasket.
There's no negotiating with them, anything they do ruins the country.

9. I've been thinking about how they...
how they behaved during the run-up to the 2010 election. Shouting and disruption and intimidation. They were pretty obviously not aimed at anything constructive, from the start. They're not there to make anything work. They're there to break things.

The question is, how do we deal with that? Have they discovered a fundamental weakness in how how system works? If our government is infiltrated by those who only wish to destroy that government, have we no way to stop them? The House is looking like a body with a life-threatening infection and a compromised immune system.

Maybe we should run in 2012 on a "Good Faith" amendment, or something. Advocate a process which will depose an elected or appointed official who is found to have taken his or her post with the intent to disrupt. Or perhaps that's a really bad idea, which leads in worrisome directions, in its own right. Hmm.
