2. Walsh Won't Run In The 8th...
Hi Mo...

Walsh lives in Fox Lake...that's part of the new 14th and 5 or more miles from the new 8th. The battle here will be between Tammy and Raja for the Democratic nomination...and Raja's already done a lot of legwork...I wouldn't be surprised if he wins the primary and then the new 8th next year. While Tammy's a high profile figure and one that we all have a great deal of respect for, Raja has been networking and getting his ducks in a row and, as you know, its organizations that win elections.

I'm kinda hoping that Deadbeat Walsh runs in this new Blue district, he'd get his ass handed to him.

:hi:

3. ok, my bad. but
cegelis was doing the same, and tammy beat her. and for no good reason at the time, imho.

i think she has a lot more polish and experience behind her. and she has the big guns. they have the best organization money can buy.
hope raja keeps trying, tho. he is a good candidate. he got the 49th ward dems endorsement last time. might be a little muscle available from here. we have so little to fight for here in the deep, deep blue. we have to go out to the suburbs looking for fights.

4. The 6th Is Different Than The New 8th
Tammy's been invisible around these parts since she lost to Ros-scum in '06. That district was mostly in DuPage County that, while trending blue, is still the "Orange County" of the midwest. The new 8th covers some area that belonged to the old 10th (Kirk and Dold) and is not a lock for a Democrat but far friendlier now that its shed McHenry and Northern Lake county. Those guys in Springfield did a kick-ass job for the Democrats.

Walsh won by only 491 votes and many of us "out here" are firmly convinced it was due to a lack of enthusiasm by local Democrats for Bean who had gone all "Blue Dog" on us. Thanks to Walsh, its energized many of the local parties...chomping for a chance to take back these districts and kick some serious ass. I really didn't know much about Raja until recently but he and his people have made a positive impression with many local Democrats. We haven't seen/heard from Tammy.

Another good pick-up could be the revised 14th where Bill Foster is going to run again...and the revised 10th should also be a strong blue pick-up. You'll have plenty of races to choose from next year.

Cheers...

only won by three hundred votes last night. Either way, he barely squeaked by, yet he acts as if he has a huge mandate. I wish our side could borrow some of that attitude.

6. Walsh Is Auditioning For His Next Gig...
This dude is one big camera hog...to the point of pissing off local rushpublicans. That's a major reason his district got cut up the worst...better to sacrifice his sorry ass than for someone who has some "value". While they were doing the redistricting, he vanished from the tube and then came roaring back when it became obvious he was going to have a tough time getting re-elected. Methinks he'll become yet another talking head...blabbing away with Tweety for pay. I just hope his wages are garnished.

Cheers...
