Impotent Rage is a Factor
If you look back in history, as painful as it can be, you can see that we used to at least have a pattern .

Kennedy was shot, a suspect was apprehended, and even though millions of people will never really accept the eventual "explanation", we at least saw a public effort made to settle the issue.

The same for Bobby's murder..a trial was held and a man is doing life.

MLK's death also was "paid for" (again there was controversy, but we'll never really know)

Nixon's crimes were paid for by forcing him from office.

The Savings & Loan Swindles sent many wheeler-dealers to prison, and brought some political careers to an end.

We even saw a democratic leader sent to prison for issues largely revolving around postage stamps.

There was a right and there was a wrong...and wrong brought consequences.

There was no internet then, and only 3 tv networks, and even in that primitive news era, we managed to exact a certain amount of justice..justice that "the people" seemed satisfied with.

The "bad guys" got their just desserts, so we could all go on with our daily lives, and not have to worry.

Then we started to see that change.... The "weasel" era had begun.. Crafty politicians created more and more clever loopholes that allowed big shots to prosper, at the expense of the everyday-person. There seemed to be no respite for most of us. No justice.. A kid gets caught with some weed, and he's going away for a long time..a "fatcat" steals millions & gets a slap on the wrist, a fine and a suspended sentence or at most a few months at Club Fed.

Rules get made that remove guaranteed pensions & divert money into 401-ks that are used as table stakes for wall street wunderkind-gamblers.. They walk away rich, and the rest of us just walk away..emptyhanded.

Property taxes keep going up, and yet schools keep getting worse

Property values end up manipulated and the only real asset most people had, ends up worth less than many owe, and are even unsellable in a shitty market, just as millions of people prepared to downsize & retire.

College is out of reach financially for millions and the ones who do go, end up hopelessly in debt and unable to find jobs that pay enough to pay the damned debt off.

Big-spending politicians have a sky's the limit attitude when it comes to defense spending and pork for their own districts & states and look to Welfare, Medicare, Social Security & Medicaid as a place to "find money" to close the gap they created.

People are losing health care or the ability to afford health care, and of course the chemical-laden world we live in is making health issues more dangerous than ever. People who have health care (even if they cannot afford it) are often tethered to jobs they hate, but dare not leave.

There is a LOT of edginess & unhappiness in the country. Kids grow up with edgy parents, too tired to do much parenting. Kids feel the pressures in school from edgy teachers and edgy fellow students.

Mental health issues plague most families, for at least a few members, but in the day of computers, many may fear getting treatment, even if they can afford it. (There's that thing about "your permanent record").

What a lot of people do not realize about mental health care is this...it takes a LONG time to "fix" problems, and often there are problems that cannot be fixed...only learned to live with. That takes a support system that is sorely lacking.

Every few years people all over the country put their hopes & fears into the people they elect. They hope & expect that these people will make things better...or at least not make them worse..

We have been losing for a very long time, and it's mentally damaging..to all of us.

1. Impotent rage is neither left or right and a better broad description of many world wide
In the current case an inability to get accepted into the army, kicked out of college, probably unable to hold down a job (would anyone want him as a coworker)

2. The argument of "Left & Right Politics is Anesthesia for the Masses"
the Wealthy Elite who are pulling the strings are never implicated nor negatively impacted

3. Rage fuels irrational thought
I know this all too well due to a recent event in my life. My rage was consuming me, and I am a normally docile, non-violent person.
I was having thoughts no sane person would want to have. Fortunately, I recognized what it was doing to me and went to see a physician immediately. My doctor saw my elevated blood pressure (normally on the low side), nervousness, and I explained why I was filled with rage. She prescribed me some pills that calmed me down and released the anxiety (that's what rage really is).

Having the tension gone was like a breath of fresh air! Those who are consumed with rage and do not seek assistance are dangerous.
They do not think rationally, and that can lead to irrational acts.

The unavailability of affordable healthcare is a culprit in this age of irrational hate talk. People need assistance but cannot afford to seek it out and dispell their rage. That is a hurdle we MUST overcome.
