6. No - I mean back in 2009 when Obama was pushing legislation
to close these loopholes

Since you seem feel it appropriate to criticize him for NOT enacting this legislation yet lack any knowledge of when it was proposed to the House and Senate

7. i didn't criticize him for anything. i said if he was able to repatriate offshored profits i'd
change my opinion of him.

and i know of no effort to do that "back in 2009".

10. New York Times article - Obama Calls for Curbs on Offshore Tax Havens
WASHINGTON — President Obama on Monday called for curbing offshore tax havens and corporate tax breaks to collect billions of dollars more from multinational companies and wealthy individuals.

13. more power to him. but please don't tell me it's not getting done because I personally haven't
called my representative.

if i didn't know about it, it's a good bet 95% of the country didn't know about it. and in my opinion, that's a failure of the party & its leadership.

14. On that I would have to agree
Not 1 Democratic Senator or Representative stood beside him as he argued in the press defending the measures.

And at the time DEMs controlled both the House and Senate

pressure, the entire party should have been pushing, & they should have been commenting on it daily.

the difference between the publicity on that initiative & this debt crap is illustrative.

8. A company can hold it's money anywhere it pleases.

WTF? Should every company in the world have to bring it's money to North America?

18. When they make the riches off the backs of America, god damn right they should be responsible to
America! If it wasn't for America, they wouldn't have that fucking dough to shove off-shore.

9. And that's Mitt Romney's plan to save the economy
He'll lower the tax rates to something below 5% for repatriated money, and it could indeed have an impact on the economy.

12. I didn't say it would be perfect, just that it's his plan
Besides if Mittens gets the nomination, I'll officially stop worrying. The fundies would rather sit on their hands (or vote third party) than to have a Mormon as President. In fact, they will absolutely prevent him from getting the nomination.
