What The President Might Want To Consider Saying Soon...
I won't write another speech for the President, I did that here, LOL: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=439&topic_id=1527300

But what he SHOULD consider saying, soon... is something to the effect of...

"We have not been able to come to an agreement that takes care of raising the debt ceiling, while making serious spending cuts, and raising revenues. Time is almost up...

So I ask Congress and the American people to insist on raising the debt ceiling now, and putting any future debt ceiling issues well into 2013, after the 2012 election.

And then... let us all, both parties, myself, and the American People, make this next election about the future of revenues, debt reduction, and above all else...JOBS.

1. He should tell them to call their Congress Critters even before he finishes his speech and to keep
calling their offices. Offer their tollfree numbers on the screen while he's speaking. Websites that list the numbers for the members.

2. I think what he might really WANT to say is --
"I've had it with these fucks! We're going to do what's right for the American people and the country and I don't give a shit if they agree or not. Good night and God Bless America." :patriot:

4. But that's not "Grand" or "Historic"
It's not a "Big Fucking Deal".

That won't make Chris Matthews all tingly.
It won't make David Brooks write a gushing column about Obama.
It won't make people refer to him as the last reasonable man in Washington.

Which is ultimately what it's all about otherwise he would have more blatantly called bullshit on these antics and pointed out the ridiculousness of it weeks, if not months ago.

7. His use of the word "grand" is so pretentious, dramatic & self-aggrandizing.

When has a political program ever been labeled grand by it's sponsor?
