A Simple Question?
How did we go from a balanced budget to the present predicament in just 10 short years?

Not only did we have a balanced budget in 2001, we had a surplus.

I suppose if we could step backwards out of this swamp and retrace our steps to 2001, we could see clearly how we got here today?

Perhaps, it would be beneficial to look at the truth?

Perhaps we should point out just who is responsible for the mess we are in?

Perhaps we should point out that the present "crisis" over the debt limit was created by the Republicans with their Tea Party cohorts. They chose to make this a "crisis". Ownership of responsibility is important.

If a couple of thieves rob the Mom and Pop store down on the corner, I refuse to accept blame for it. Those that robbed the store are responsible.

3. Republican borrowing and spending and tax cuts.
This always their design, to take the country back for the rich only.

5. Simple answer?
Sandra Day O'Connor, Anthony Kennedy, William Rehnquist, Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas
Supporting cast: Katherine Harris, Jeb Bush

2004 remake: Kenneth Blackwell

Rehnquist is deceased, O'Connor has shown signs of realizing what she did to us. The others are still proud of their malevolence.
