Oregon’s Rep. Wu faces sex allegation

By Aaron Blake, Saturday, July 23, 7:12 PM
Rep. David Wu spoke with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Saturday about his future after reports in his hometown newspaper that a young woman called the congressman’s office this spring complaining of what was described as an “unwanted sexual encounter.”

The woman, whom the Portland Oregonian did not name, reportedly left a distraught voicemail accusing Wu (D-Ore.) of aggressive sexual behavior.

The Oregonian, citing anonymous sources in the congressman’s office, said Wu has acknowledged a sexual encounter with the woman but said that it was consensual. The congressman separated from his wife in 2009 and has been seeking a divorce.

Asked by reporters Saturday night whether she thought Wu should resign, Pelosi (D-Calif.) declined to weigh in.

1. The guy is ineffective and nuts.
He's being primaried. And, he'll lose.

Oregon District One will have a new Congressman soon. And it will be a Democrat.

And that's a good thing.

Wu has lost all credibility.

2. Smear job?
If the complaining woman is willing to swear and sign a complaint that the guy committed criminal behavior, he should be charged and arrested.

If, on the other hand, she has some problem doing this, it is doing him a grave injustice to publish this "heresay" crap all over the internet.

3. Some publications keep screaming "teenager", so, yes.
She's 19 or 20, he's 56, but the articles use the word "tennager" multiple times to press home their agenda against Wu. Imagine that!
