Damn that was sweet. The President just slaughtered the Republican Congress.
He came out and dissected them the way only he can, basically saying "We've tried to come up with a deal. We offered fair bargains. But these guys have no interest in actually doing anything. They can't say yes to anything."

It's important to remember that Obama has been laying the groundwork for this for weeks: every proposed deal that then got broken up, every time the negotiations went back to the beginning, it's been one more piece of ammo for him to go to the public with and say, "These people don't want to govern. They just want to stop everything. And if it comes to that, they are going to have to be responsible for their decisions."

7. What's really sad that nearly every one of them who seeks reelection
will be successful, because voters select "the name you know."

Performance, or lack thereof, does not matter.

9. Then DUers need to get out there and work to make that not happen.
Maybe some people can take the energy that they dedicate to complaining about Obama, and use it to provide a friendly Congress.

19. I doubt it. Independents that went for those bastards based upon the jobs
promise have to feel abandoned by now. Those independents will swing back to democrats, the side that they know is better than the unknown. Democrats may leave blood on the floor, but at least they get policy done and progress made.

15. Yes! And it points clearly to partisan politics, the baggers and racism.

Those are the only logical conclusions and now America sees it clearly.

17. I hope a huge crowd saw that!!!
Yes, what else can it be now but raw racism!? The GOP is ruled and runs based on racism and cronyism. People now should understand that is true by what they just saw happen in Washington DC.

14. I liked how he complimented Dems too, saying they were willing
to make some difficult compromises for the sake of the country.

See how this is shaping up? Repubs are scary racist partisans who will sacrifice ordinary Americans. Dems are good people who put the country ahead of politics. It's beautiful!

18. Despite the bellyaching from the Left. President Obama has made it
more likely that more progressive candidates will be elected in 2012, enough to take back the House and hold the Senate. Republicans are painting themselves into a corner and won't get out unless the Left fucks things up again and let republicans out without the slaughter that President Obama has set up for republicans to get administered.
