Don't believe hacking will hurt Murdoch? Another Blow to Rupert as Foxtel deal derailed
I keep hearing people say that the phone hacking story will not hurt Murdoch.

In response I offer this:

1. The world's largest newspaper, the News of the World, folded. 2.6 million people a week will no longer read Murdoch's brainwashing in that paper. 70 pence of each of those 2.6 million papers was profit (more than a buck). Murdoch used this paper to destroy liberal candidates and to push his selected officials into office. Major Victory.

2. Murdoch lost his bid on BSkyB. By pulling out, News Corp lost 34 million dollars. It also means Murdoch can't use BSkyB as another of his brainwashing tools. Major Victory. He might even be deemed ineligible ethically to own shares in BSkyB which means News Corp will lose more influence. That too would be a Major Victory.

3. News International has lost its CEO. Major Victory.

4. Les Hinton has had to step down. Major Victory.

5. More and more of the general populace in England and here has become aware of Murdoch's tricks. Major Victory.

6. News Corp has had to curtail all of its hacking, blagging, etc. in fear of getting caught. Major Victory.

7. Andy Coulson, Prime Minister Cameron's Communications person had to step down. This removed one of Murdoch's most highest placed minions. Major Victory.

8. There are calls for Murdoch to step down from some very high-placed people. VIctory and if he does step down, or is forced out, it is another victory.

9. And now Murdoch doesn't get to own his Australian pay-tv monopoly. Australia would have had only Murdoch approved television on cable if he had won. Major Victory. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/phone-hacking/8655725/Blow-to-Rupert-Murdoch-as-Foxtel-deal-derailed.html

So much for nothing will come of the phone hacking scandal. But, even for you nay-sayers I think the best is yet to come. Even Murdoch's employees are admitting that.

1. Very good perspective
I like your glass half full approach. I tend to see the world this way. The facts you list are very positive ones. The cracks are showing in the Murdock empire, and hopefully it'll lead to his empire falling into dust.
