Joe Conason didn't look so good on MJ today...

He's lost a lot of weight but it makes him look skeletal, not trim. I know he had a serious heart attack about a year or so ago so of course that can do it. His hair is grayer and thinner and he didn't seem well as he participated in the discussion, staring down at the table when listening to the others, seemingly in a bit of a fog.

I felt horrible for him. I hope I am wrong and he is getting better and better! But he did seem "down," even tho his marvelous deep voice is pretty much the same...

Did anyone else notice this?

4. Joe was particularly pissed today because Conason and Howard Dean

were being so respectful of Paul Krugman and Scar can't stand him. He pitched a fit right there on the show. It was embarrassing. Even Mika was embarrassed for him. Krugman really drives him nuts.

I remember first hearing him on Al Franken's Air America show, back in the dark days of early 2005, when we liberals were reeling from the Kerry loss. Al had Conason on as a semi-regular and he'd croon this song "Carry on Joe Conason" to introduce him. It was so corny but you could tell Al really liked him a lot...

5. I think the documentary "The Hunting of the the President" (or something like that). Was based

on Conason's book about the Clinton's vs. Mellon Scaife and them other dickheads.

I didn't know whether she was kidding or not. Maybe it's the Polish heritage on her father's side...her mother is French...
