What job do you believe righteously earns $100,000/month, $1.2 million dollars a year? Think about that for a moment, someone who takes home $1.2 million dollars a year gets paid $100k/month.

One-Hundred-Thousand-Dollars per MONTH. These are the people who are doing the complaining?! Someone who makes $100k/month IS COMPLAINING?! $25,000 a WEEK and you expect me to feel sorry that your taxes may be raised?!

Somewhere right now there is a doctor who just implanted a new beating heart into a 4yr old's chest giving that child a chance at living for the rest of their life instead of dying and only makes $200k/yr, yet some guy who spends his days trying to destroy peoples pensions while chasing his secretary around the office and sexually harassing her makes well over $1.2 million a year?!!!

I don't believe we should dictate what people should get paid or caps on pay, but I do believe we should be disgusted that someone who makes $100,000/month should even dare open their f**king mouths to complain about taxes, and that goes for all of these RW pundits/t.v. hosts who do absolutely NOTHING but sit in their chairs all day at the easiest job in the world and try to pit middle class vs middle class or the poor vs the poor to try and get their mindless drone idiots to fight their class warfare on the ground for them while they just sit back in their gated communities and watch our empire crumble (while making well over $1.2 million/yr from their t.v. contracts). There is no reason 2 people from the same social/economic class should be against each other, we should unify and stand our ground against the class warfare the super-rich have waged on us, they sure as hell are unified against us.

Someone not in a union shouldn't be railing against someone who IS in a union yet makes the same income. They should push to unionize and we will have their backs, instead the RW has made it so the middle class, instead of looking at unions as a way to prosper, has made these people want to tear down others in the same economic class as them through propaganda and fake envy. THIS is the vast right-wing conspiracy and social engineering: You could always pay half of the poor people to kill the other half.

So, what job do you think righteously earns their $1.2 million/yr, $100 thousand/month, $25,000/week? Maybe they're the ones living beyond their means.

1. I was just going to say a talented surgeon who does transplants,
brain surgery, etc. would deserve that mount. Perhaps a physicist or nuclear engineer for NASA, but NOT some number pusher (and I was an accountant!)!

7. Nobody at NASA makes $100K/month
not the administrator, not the astronauts, not the scientists.

I should know, for 10 years I was "Chief Scientist" at NASA and made almost as much as the Directorate Chief that I worked (who reports to the Administrator). All such positions are SES (Senior Executive Service) and require presidential appointment. I made very good money, but no where near $100,000 a month.

My brother-in-law, an ER doc who has a 5 partner practice in Arizona, makes something like $400,000 a year. He has been practicing medicine for over 35 years. I think a talented heart or brain surgeon (and, sadly, plastic surgeons) could easily make more than $1M/year.

3. I know a doctor
Him and his wife are good friends of mine, he's the head of oncology at a major hospital here. I don't know what he makes but it wouldn't surprise me if he earned a similar amount to what you posted.

Ironically, he's a staunch Democrat and I've never once heard him or his wife complain about taxes .

5. That's a tough 'un. They pay news anchors and sports figures that kind of cash,
and I don't think they earn it, either--but "everyone else" in the industry gets big money, so salaries have gone crazy. Actors make big money, too, along with TV hosts of popular shows, like Oprah.

8. The thing with entertainers is...

...that if someone is delivering, say, fifty cents worth of entertainment to each of ten million people, then where should that value go? Not to the network executives.

12. The price of "entertainment" is inflated beyond measure.
It's why I stick with OLD entertainment.

I won't pay ten bucks to see a film; I will wait and pay a buck from the REDBOX.

35. I can see actors because they may make one hit movie and then
not work for one or several years. I also can see sports figures, especially the hard hitting sports like football, hockey, boxing, etc. because they usually don't have a very long career, and could easily lose it by injury at any time. But Anchors? NO! However, if the networks are willing to pay it, it's the stockholders who should coplain, not me.

10. None. No one should make that much
That's the problem in society today, we have accepted these humongous salaries as legitimate, and they're not, it's way too much. This is why there is such disparity in income levels, we have allowed CEO's and corporate bigwigs to get away with robbery too long! I think they should be allowed to make that much, but should be taxed 100% over a certain amount.

If a surgeon's worth it, a teacher is too. Without teachers, the surgeon couldn't even read a textbook on how to do those transplants!

20. My larger concern is the idea that anyone that works full time wouldn't
make enough to be at the very least self supporting, able to have recreation, time off, have a home, save, eat well, or have a moments concern about health care.

That isn't righteous at all. Why is does the lady who cleans my office not deserve a decent life? Does the office not need to be cleaned? How is she many times many less valuable than say "The Situation" or "Snookie"? These folks who do not even have a talent or a skill, LeBron James I can see what he does may not be important but there are precious few who possess the mixture of physical attributes, talent, and skills. Any fuckwit can be a "The Situation", literally any.

23. What if, by your talents, you earn the company you work for a billion dollars
Shouldn't you be entitled to more than .1%? Even if you earned $10M/yr, that's just 1% of what you generated for the company. Shouldn't workers be paid for the value generated? Isn't that a progressive ideal?

27. No. That is pay based on output. Pay should be based on how much you input. That way pay scales
would be fairer.

A CEO working 40 hours a week shouldn't make more than 10x the union hack who also works 40 hours a week. Their input was the same.

If someone does earn their company $1B because they are oh-so-clever then they should be paid millions absolutely.

30. That's just bad politicians
Politicians who act as if their Wall Street friends are more important than a soldier.

The average grunt is as patriotic as can be.
Politicians use them for their illegal and immoral means.

They can get away with it only because the profits from using other people for their $$ gains are great. If we take away the profits by paying soldiers what they are worth, profits would end making wars a thing of the past.

32. 1 mil a year is nothing compared to CEO pay: check the figures
1 mil a year is chicken feed compared to what many American and foreign executives 'earn'.

http://www.usatoday.com/money/companies/management/2011-03-31-ceo-pay-chart-total.htm

I believe 1 mil a year would be just compensation for people whose hard work contributes to the well-being of society as a whole. Research scientists, engineers, inventors, pioneering surgeons and quite a few professions deserve high compensation. And 1 mil a year after taxes isn't too much for those who really earn it. I say this as somebody whose income is embarrassingly small. :(

and look at that a greater than 50% savings!
