Has the right-wing effectively infiltrated the Democratic Party to the point that the Democratic Party is no longer representing "traditional Democratic ideals"?

2. I think the GOP has veered so far to the right in the last 30 years

that "moderate conservatives" who would have stayed with the Republican party jumped over and joined the Democrats.

Now the GOP is left with the batshit crazy (but they've been fairly homogenous, so less infighting), and the Democrats are stuck with both Blue Dogs and liberals.

I wish the moderate conservatives would split off and form their own party. Then Democrats could focus less on ideological infighting and more on getting things done.
