This is in a REPUBLICAN country stronghold in NJ. The most important thing is coupon shopping and free slurpees. The press is fucking embarrassing.

1. well maybe the debt crisis ISN'T important, i admit i don't see why it's important
our front page is more about the danziger bridge testimony and who shot who in the french quarter the other day

the debt crisis seems like one of these issues that's more noise than anything else

meanwhile down on the ground real people are worried about jobs (there aren't any) and cops gone wild (plenty of them around)

7. And it will lead to more people not having jobs
And perhaps less cops. I don't blame you for not knowing this. Nobody has bothered to teach you this, or why.

3. Though I do not think this article should be front page news,
coupon clipping is important in these days of uncertainty. I am a coupon clipper, and they save a lot of money at the supermarket.

6. To middle America is does not matter
Partly due to how well the press has educated then, but partly it is cultural. The US in General is very provincial. The farther you go from ihe coasts the worst this becomes.

9. What I see is a paper that doesn't want to inform the populace
about the debt crisis, but realizes more and more of its readers need to rely on coupons. I'm betting the paper prints a lot of them, too, to sell papers.

10. Nope, Sunday edition is less than a 1/4 inch thick.
My beloved ex worked for Gannett. Their philosophy in NJ was be the paper you buy for the bird cage, nothing more. They don't WANT to be political, too much effort needed.
