Let the nation default. It will be the Republicans that will pay for it for decades.

WE HAD TO DESTROY THE ENTIRE WORLD ECONOMY TO SAVE IT

we will all take great comfort in that when we battle each other to the death to survive.

They wouldnt get elected for the next 50 years, if their party survived it.

3. It's just as they planned
Republicans are more than willing to make this country be for and about the rich only. To them the Constitution is something to manipulate when they want to use it and ignored when they don't.

The rest of us are just a burden right now. Once they take everything away we can go fuck ourselves for all they care.

I believe this to be the truth.

4. Not just our nation
They are willing to send the entire global economy into a tailspin to protect the uber wealthy. Clearly they suck.

5. If only the solution were as SIMPLE as that...
I have no problem with ending the Bush (now Obama) era tax cuts. However, the amount collected would take care of about one days expenditures by the US government. On the other hand, if unemployment could be cut to 7%, it would lower the deficit by about $600 billion. A drop in the need for unemployment assistance, food stamps, etc. would cut it another $150 billion. That's about half of last year's deficit taken care of without making a single cut to any program.

Clearly, fixing the economy makes more sense than waging class warfare.

6. Default
The system is sick - chronic. I doubt it's still fixable by "taxing them" or "cutting their programs". Shifting the red and black numbers addresses the symptoms, not the illness. Default, pay the tab, and reopen when we are adult enough to be a country - not hostiles sharing the same land.

7. They are weirding me out at the moment
walking away from OBama's tax deal because he seems to be giving them too much. Sounds like they don't want to be Clintoned again. Clinton got the major credit for Republicans demands to balance the budget. This time apparently they don't want to reduce that debt too much and lose DEBT FEAR as an issue. Goes to show once again they give not a crap for the debt or the economy.
