Repuke strategy: kill off the poor, elderly, and sick

In other words, get rid of the "leeches on society" (a phrase I've heard more than one repuke use). Takes care of your unemployment, social security, and health care problems.

Funny how death seems to be the answer to so many repuke issues.

If their actions result in people not being able to get proper nutrition or healthcare, it can certainly result in thousands of premature deaths. It may not mean much to those living in luxury, but those living on the edge can certainly be killed as a result of some of this teaparty policy. They might receive emergency care after it's too late to be saved from illness. Health plays a huge part of being able to live. Before healthcare became available in the modern age, people died in their 20s or 30s as a norm.

I think its wrong to point the finger at mom and pop Republicans down the street with this kind of thing, but the fact is the eugenics current is definitely working in the world. I mean, look at the scientific predictions for global warming: mass extinctions, a lot of dead people in poorer places. Cui Bono? Only the optimist assumes nobody.

The normal person sees nature, the creation as beautiful. But the eugenicist sees the biosphere including human beings as his garden, where weeds, human and otherwise are to be removed. Therefore a large scale evolutionary event is favorable in his eyes, it removes the weeds so approved "flowers" can be planted. There's a whole philosophy here, of man as the creator of his destiny, the designer of his environment that goes way back. This thinking is psycho-pathological, a good scientific eye realizes that the unit of survival is no longer individual people, but cultures, which are defined by symbiotic relationships. The ideologies that attempt to pit individuals against each other in a gladiatorial fashion will fair no better long term than an animal who's own cells are battling against each other. Compassion is here because it was selected. As one poet put it, love is the only engine of survival.

Because of the financial payoffs to insurance companies and other corporations, I suspect that it will become not only easier to choose voluntary "painless" suicide for the elderly and the sick but also that there will be ever less subtle pressure to take that path. Maybe a "death benefit" to designated beneficiaries plus ever more difficult obstacles to having a livable retirement. And from there, how long until OTHERS can usurp that choice and force the issue?

That's the trend as I see it, unless this sick progression toward total corporatism and corruption is reversed.
