Am I missing something?
Right now it appears that we falling all over ourselves as a collective over rumors and speculation and very little in the way of facts.

I certainly don't have a problem with letting our leadership know our positions with regards to rumors and where we draw the line. That is not only expected, but it is also a duty.

Before anyone is willing to spit in someone's face and/or threatening to metaphorically or not to burn one's membership and party affiliation, shouldn't we actually be acting on facts instead of letting the corporate media and various shills lead us around like a bunch of sheep?

In short, there is no deal on the table that is written in stone and until there is, it might be good idea to put down the torches and pitchforks and pick up the phone and call not only your representatives and the White House, but also your governors and mayors and next door neighbors and local party offices.

I realize many people are just blowing off steam, but burning bridges seems a bit premature at this point in time.

1. Before the deal is cut is the right time to raise a stink, eh?
The squeaky wheel gets the grease. We are The People, we are entitled to speak.

6. Letting your opinion be known is fine and you'll note I suggested exactly that.
...thank you very much, which by the looks of things, many never read past the first line of anything so it may have been missed.

5. Odd theory that one should only speak up after something is
'written in stone'. Not a concept I'd call democratic at all. You should assume that everyone here is calling, writing, and all of that. They are also discussing it on a discussion board. Those of us who are not 'moderate centrists' can do more than one thing at a time without falling down.

7. Did I say wait to speak up? Perhaps you should read again?
But some of the reactions are treating this as a fait accompli.

What I did say was don't treat rumor as fact and LET YOUR FELLOW AMERICANS AND LEADERS KNOW YOUR STANCE.

If we treat rumor as fact, then we have already accepted a capitulation that we can prevent.

Did I make myself clear this time?

I don't get it (well, I think I probably do), but I can't say it.
