This iridium razor costs $100,000

The Zafirro Iridium razor features sapphire blades for up to 10 years of uber-decadent shaving bliss. The cost? Only a cool $100,000.

If you’re thinking to yourself, "my man is a platinum-only type of guy, OK?!" you may want to reconsider since iridium happens to be ten times more rare than platinum, making it ten times more precious.

Not only is it super precious, but it can be found meteorites and is primarily used in "the aerospace industry for components such as rocket engines where durability is critical."

<snip>

Also, solid white sapphire blades provide an extremely sharp edge for extra close hypoallergenic shaving - which cannot be corroded or oxidized.

3. I wonder how many of those have to sell to turn a profit...
Would even the oil shiekhs (who money has no meaning to) be interested in something like that??

5. Doing the math....
I can buy a 4 pack of decent Bic razors for about $4.50, so they're about $1.12 each.

There are 365 days in a year, and 3650 days in the lifetime of this Iridium razor. Even if I shave twice a day and NEVER reuse a razor (shave once, throw it out), I can get the same quality shave over the same time period for a smidge over $8,000 from my local grocery store.

I think I'll skip this one.

7. I quit shaving in 1969. Look at what I've saved!
Whenever I see a clean-shaven man, I always wonder what he really looks like.

11. To be fair, the tools tend to leave the bathroom after they've done their business. NT

12. Because you asked... World’s Most Expensive Toilet Paper
Edited on Thu Jun-30-11 05:15 PM by Ian David
World’s Most Expensive Toilet Paper

Do you ever feel like your bath tissue doesn’t communicate your wealth as well as it could? Fortunately for anyone who does, that insurmountable problem has been surmounted by Renovo, makers of the most expensive toilet paper in the world.

Renovo’s luxury toilet paper is the ultimate in luxury toiletries. This soft TP is made of 100% virgin pulp for maximum softness. It’s three-ply and colorfast. Yes, you read that right—it’s colorfast. Renovo’s designer toilet paper comes in six different colors—black, red, green, orange, blue and fuchsia.

Renovo toilet paper is priced from just over $3 for a single roll to $7.60 for six rolls. It can be seen—and, I suppose, used—in upscale restaurant and hotel bathrooms in the US, Canada and Europe.

That's not something I could afford every day, but it might be something I could put out for guests, on really special occasions... like a wedding.

I'm actually shocked that there isn't an EXTREMELY expensive toilet paper made of silk or something that costs more than $100 a roll.

I could put it in one of THESE...

The iCarta+ Stereo Dock and toilet paper holder. Yours for $90.
