Western sanctions have no impact on Iran's military advancements: commander

TEHRAN, June 30 (Xinhua) -- A senior commander of Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) said the western sanctions have had no impact on Iran's military advancements, the English language satellite Press TV reported Thursday.

However, the western campaign of threats and sanctions against Iran has made the nation "more proficient, conscious and determined," and "it has made the armed forces more effective in the battlefield," IRGC's Aerospace Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh was quoted as saying.

Hajizadeh hailed the accomplishments of the Iranian armed forces and described the achievements as a blend of capabilities of the new generation of the nation's military experts in the fields of defense and security with the "strategic experience of the older generation," said the report.

He said Iran's armed forces will make the enemies regret with " a crushing, fatal and chastising" response if they dare to act out their war threats.
