A Tennessee radio station is reporting that Rep. Heath Shuler (D-NC) is considering taking a job as the athletic director of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he gained national attention as a top quarterback in the early 1990s.

If that is true, he must be mixed up in something bad. He has long been groomed for leadership positions. I won't be sad to see him go.

2. Not thrilled with his voting record either.

But he was with us on some things, and had that "D" after his name. I don't see another Democrat winning his district.
